Motus Commercials Avonmouth has delivered its first New Generation DAF vehicle to Broughton Transport Solutions Ltd.
Based in Melksham, Wiltshire, Broughton Transport specialises in refrigeration and high-value goods transport. Their new DAF of choice is the XG+ 530 FTG, with a comprehensive spec featuring, but not limited to:
- Twin Xtra Leather Air Seats (both with swivel base)
- Exclusive infotainment system and speakers
- Auto cab climate control
- Air-conditioning
- Solar control foil in the glass
- Dura-Bright wheels
- Integrated parking
- ZF Intarder
Aaron Brailey, Head of Retail Sales at Motus Commercials, handed this truck over to Toby Ovens, Managing Director of Broughton Transport, and Chris Taylor the lucky driver.
Aaron explains, “The reception of this truck has been incredible, with many drivers coming in to view it in their own time prior to customer handover. The vehicle benefits from a 4.15 wheelbase allowing a 900L fuel tank capacity, which is perfect for Broughton Transport's European journeys, alongside full air suspension, dual fridge and the DAF relax bed for optimised driver comfort."
Having been with the customer for a couple of weeks, the truck has also received a mass of attention whilst on the road.
Toby adds, “So far it has been turning heads in Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, and Holland with drivers asking to see inside everywhere he goes.”
New truck models are exciting not only for us, but our customers too, and Toby wanted to be one of the first to get his hands on the new DAF XG+ for the Broughton Transport fleet.
“When I saw the release of the truck and what DAF had on offer I knew it was going to be something special. I was happy with the competitively priced quote and I wanted to be one of the first in the country to own one, so the paperwork was signed the same day and my order went in.”

“I chose the XG+ model as it suits our drivers best with them spending up to two weeks away from base at a time. With this truck, they have all the facilities needed for a comfortable night's rest, including the night-time air conditioning which is a real bonus in hot countries. It’s important for me that our drivers have the best equipment to ensure that they’re happy in their work and the XG+ ticks all the boxes.”
Toby is pleased with not only the new truck but also the customer service levels from the Motus Commercials sales team, and he has high hopes for his relationship with the DAF dealership group as he awaits the delivery of a further four vehicles.
“The fuel returns have also been very promising and the driver appeal is massive. I think DAF really have done something special with this new model.”
“Motus kept me up to date throughout the build and when the truck was painted the PDI was completed within a day to get the truck on the road as soon as possible. We are currently waiting for another 4 vehicles from Motus and if the service carries on like it is then I can see no reason why there will not be anymore.”
The XG+ 530 FTG, and subsequent new DAF trucks, will be taken care of by Motus Commercials Swindon on a full 3-year Repair & Maintenance package.
