THE AIM OF THE SERVICE AND MAINTANCE TECHNICIAN PROGRAM

The Service and Maintenance Technician Programme has been developed to give people an opportunity to start a new career as a Commercial Vehicle Technician. Aimed at candidates with no technical knowledge or experience, the two-year internal course will be the first steppingstone for a fulfilling career with Motus Commercials.

An exciting chance to start something new, colleagues will hit the ground running in one of Motus Commercial’s state-of-the-art workshops, receiving on the job training whilst earning the standard living wage. Successful completion of the course will provide a Level 1 Commercial Vehicle Technician status and the opportunity for even further education.
ABOUT THE ROLE
What will you be doing:

The Trainee Service & Maintenance Technician position will over a 2-year period be trained to service and repair vehicles in a safe and economical manner through the supervision of a fully qualified Technician.
- To observe and understand how to be able to diagnose a fault with a view to being competent at diagnostics.
- To observe and understand how to carry out full service & maintenance inspections with a view to being fully competent in carrying out full inspections and obtaining the nationally industry recognised IRTEC qualification
- To undertake hands on training within the Service Department alongside your nominated mentor.
- To attend recognised training courses at DAF Trucks in Haddenham and achieve the correct pass mark for each course.
- To assist with general housekeeping duties required within the workshop.
- To enjoy your time as a Brilliant Colleague within Motus Commercials.
Upon completion of your 2-year training, you will be a fully qualified DAF Maintenance and Inspection Technician, and if you desire, we will support you to continue training towards becoming a Master Diagnosis Technician.

As a Trainee with Motus Commercials, you will need to:
- Be driven by your own initiative & be an excellent communicator with the ability to maintain positive relationships.
- Have a keen interest in the Industry and be able to follow instructions
- Be enthusiastic, committed, and confident with an analytical and methodical way of thinking
- Be highly motivated with an eye for detail.
- Hold a genuine interest in mechanical engineering on commercial vehicles.
