DAF dealership Motus Commercials Huddersfield has handed over twelve new DAF XF 530 FTG Super Space tractor units to Tom Moorhouse and Son Ltd.
Established in 1887, the general haulage and warehousing business based in Honley, Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, is currently managed by the fourth and fifth generations of the Moorhouse family.
Josie Galloway, Finance Director at Tom Moorhouse and Son Ltd comments, “We’ve always had DAF’s on the fleet and as a family business we prefer to work with local partners and support other British businesses. The new DAF XF’s enter service alongside a majority DAF fleet and have all been fitted with Luxury Air Seats for both the driver and co-driver, an Xtra Comfort Mattress, TruckPhone, Microwave and Fridge; to ensure maximum comfort and usability for our drivers - some of which can be in their cabs 5 nights a week!

For the operator, DAF Connect has been installed to allow Tom Moorhouse and Son Ltd to monitor their fleet’s performance including vehicle health, fuel reports, remote tacho download and ECO score card to promote more environmentally friendly driving behaviour. Not only that, to keep vulnerable road users safe, the twelve vehicles have been specified with Forward Facing Camera, Driver Side Blindspot Camera, Four Channel Recorder and Rear Ultrasonic Sensors, as part of the London Direct Vision Standard.
Galloway, remarks, “Overall, we are very impressed by the improvement in the average MPG and our drivers have commented that the comfort and driveability of the vehicles are second to none.”
