Wiltshire-based waste removal company, Absolute Rubbish SW Limited, has a brand-new DAF CF 450 Construction Tipper Grab from the stock truck range at Motus Commercials Swindon.
Received within just one month, the DAF CF 450 Construction Tipper Grab features an L Townend Tipper Body, Palfinger Crane with in-cab controls, Kelsa HiBar and MultiBar, and it was finished off at the Motus Commercials Halesowen paint shop.
The customer was initially attracted to this truck from Motus Commercials because it was in stock and available at short notice.
Lee Eagle, Truck Sales Executive at Motus Commercials Swindon, explains, “Stock trucks, such as this one, take around 1 week from point of order to delivery, which is a huge time saving for customers who would otherwise face a 6-month factory lead-time. Added extras, such as the cab crane controls and livery application in the case of this DAF CF, can make delivery times longer but it’s still nothing in comparison.”
From previous experience the customer also had a preference for DAF grab lorries, rather than alternative brands. “Our very first truck was an 11T DAF LF 45 Grab lorry, we then tried a couple of other brands before returning to DAF again with this new truck,” explains Pete Fitchett, Owner of Absolute Rubbish SW Limited.
“I chose the CF model this time around because I find they’re a really comfortable drive and the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system is great too. DAF was also the only manufacturer to offer a 450 BHP engine, with the equivalent from others only being around 400 BHP.”

Being used for grab hire, delivering aggregates, and skip bag collection and delivery, Absolute Rubbish is reaping the benefits of the trucks new application-specific features, such as the air-operated tailboard and the onboard weighing system.
Pete continues, “Our work is much easier and quicker with the new DAF CF 450 Construction Tipper Grab. We can now get 3 extra loads done per day with the time that this vehicle saves us, which of course enhances income too.”
Improvements have also been seen in fuel efficiency, since using the new DAF, “We’re finding that 1 tank of fuel in the new CF is equivalent to 1.5 in the old truck, which is a brilliant result.”
Pete is more than happy with the new DAF CF Tipper Grab and Motus Commercials Swindon, who will be repairing and maintaining the new truck on a 5-year contract.
