MOTUS Commercials Showcase Trucks and Man Power at the National Refuse Championships

Motus Commercials (formerly Imperial Commercials) DAF played a great part in the National Refuse Championships 2019, presenting a range of DAF refuse trucks on their stand, being headline sponsors for the event and racing too.

We had a great time in Weston-Super-Mare on 14th and 15th June, showcasing a range of refuse-specific trucks and taking part in the National Refuse Championships 2019.

Positioned among several other big names from the waste industry, our stand featured a stock DAF XF 530 FTG Super Space Cab Tractor Unit and a DAF LF 260 Road Sweeper, kindly lent to us by R. J. Lander. Refuse vehicle specialists, RVS also displayed 2 DAF LF 260 18 Tonne Skip Loaders elsewhere at the show too. We enjoyed showing visitors around our trucks, including local school children who lounged in the giant Motus Commercials deck chair.

Saturday 15th June was race day. In the National Refuse Championships, teams from waste and refuse companies across the UK are paired up in head to head relay races, battling to haul their bin over the finish line before their opponents.

A team of 5 employees from Motus Commercials Bristol entered the Championships and were pitted against Oxford Direct Services, who work in partnership with Oxford City Council. It was a close heat but Oxford stole the lead and made it through to the next round, knocking Motus Commercials out of the competition.

We’d like to say congratulations to Wiltshire-based waste management specialists, Grist Environmental for winning the championship title for the second year running! As well as a huge thank you to all the wonderful visitors and businesses that we met at the National Refuse Championships 2019. See you next year?
