F&G Commercials, a DAF dealership group located in the north of England, has changed its name to Motus Commercials following its acquisition of the F&G Commercials business earlier in the year.
Motus Commercials is the largest DAF dealer group in the UK and Europe. It also has a network of Ford, VW, Isuzu, Fiat and LDV van and light commercials sites. The number of Motus-operated DAF sites in the UK is 29.
Founded some 24 years ago, the well-known F&G Commercials business has four full-service DAF Dealerships in total, located at Manchester, Barnsley, Huddersfield and Oldham, there is also an Accident Repair Centre in Barnsley. All five of these sites have now taken on the Motus Commercials name. What was the F&G Bodyshop & Accident Repair Centre is now the MOTUS Accident Repair Centre and the body-building operation has been transferred to Motus Vehicle Solutions, a division of Motus Group (UK) Ltd.
Speaking about the name change, Motus Commercials Managing Director, Matthew Lawrenson, said, “We would sincerely like to stress to customers that the F&G Commercials business will stay the same. The same locations, the same services, the same people. It just makes sense now that we change the name of the F&G Commercials business to bring it in line with the Motus Commercials brand.
“F&G Commercials transferred into the new Motus Commercials operations seamlessly and this is testament to what a great fit the business is for us. We’re 100% focused on supporting past, present and future customers with new and used vehicle sales, as well as comprehensive service and parts back-up. We have been working closely with F&G over recent months to build on the solid support levels they already provided to customers and suppliers, and overlay those with our own group strengths and expertise too.
“We are confident that our new team in the north will thrive under their new brand with the support of the entire Motus Commercials network.”
