DAF’s New Generation trucks run on 100% HVO to cut CO2 emissions by 90%

DAF is working on a hydrogen-powered Internal Combustion Engine as a different option from fuel cell technology. This option has the advantage of having better transient capabilities, which means it can respond faster to changes in power demand and eliminate the need for a large energy storage system. DAF is also conducting trials with fuel cell technology to explore its potential for the future of hydrogen-powered trucks.

HVO is a convenient and eco-friendly fuel that does not require any changes to the DAF trucks, and preserves their high performance and long service intervals of up to 200,000 kilometres for long-haul transport.
WHAT IS HVO?

HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a green fuel that comes from vegetable oils and waste fats. It works in diesel engines as they are and it can cut CO2 emissions by up to 90% versus regular diesel. DAF’s New Generation trucks are ready for 100% HVO and can run on this fuel without any loss of performance or reliability.
SUITED FOR THE FULL DAF PRODUCT RANGE

Yes, HVO is compatible with all DAF products, such as the LF, CF, XF, XG and XG+ series. HVO requires no modifications to the DAF trucks, and preserves their great performance and service intervals.
