Two New Generation DAF XG 530 FTGs have quickly become a firm favourite for Lincolnshire-based agricultural haulier, Keyo. The firm, which took delivery of the three-axle tractor units in early July, has been so impressed by the performance of the new XG, it has already placed an order for a further two vehicles.
Bucking the trend in a mostly non-DAF fleet, the highly spec’d XG tractors sport a number of choice options, including DAF’s new Digital Vision System. Both trucks were delivered to Keyo by MOTUS Commercials in Scunthorpe, which had previously supplied a DAF XF in 2019.

“The service we’ve received from MOTUS Commercials has been second to none,” Josh claims. “They’ve gone above and beyond to ensure satisfaction on all levels and have played a massive role in reaffirming our confidence in the DAF brand.”Keyo has wrapped both XG tractor units in a distinctive vinyl livery. Taking inspiration from the operator’s blue and white colour scheme, the wrap has reflective properties that make the vehicles highly visible at night.

“When it comes to choosing vehicles to join our fleet, we have several key requirements,” explains Josh Van Den Bos, Welfare & Compliance Manager at Keyo. “We needed a large, modern and comfortable truck, with the best possible fuel economy and the latest driver aids to allow for optimum productivity for what is, at times, a very challenging operation. What’s more, we also expect the highest level of build quality and a first-class aftersales service.
“The new XG truly has it all,” Josh says. “We were incredibly impressed by the truck when we saw it for the first time at Motus Commercial’s launch event and we’ve always kept our minds open to new options. At that point, we spoke to the dealer, and they had delivery lead times that put DAF very much in the frame. We made the decision to place an order there and then.”

Keyo’s XG tractors will soon enter service, transporting plant machinery for farming and food production customers. The company’s drivers regularly overnight in their cabs and can be required to work in challenging locations, such as compact farmyards and narrow farm tracks.
“On paper, the performance of the XG is outstanding,” says Josh. “We easily cover 70,000km per year in each wagon, and the new DAFs provide a great working environment for our drivers. When you’re covering those distances, you need to be confident in the reliability and build quality of your truck. The cab size is exceptional, as are the internal and external technology features. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of the XG,” adds Josh.
