There’s evidence that a third of consumers base their purchasing decisions on a company’s social and ecological approach.

Another way to save money and make your company even more efficient is to maximise your route planning. UPS, for example, implemented a right-turn only policy (in the USA, left-turn in the UK). Their drivers now make approximately 90% right turns. Which, on the surface, may same a bizarre thing to do. But they’re now saving 10 million gallons of fuel each year and reducing CO2 emissions by around 20,000 metric tonnes each year.

The Fiat Professional range
We stock the entire range of Fiat Professional vehicles. So you can choose from the Fiorino, Doblo, Talento, Ducato and Fullback. The Fiat Professional range has been a fixture for over 100 years and they’re still reinventing it every day.

The Ducato has been named Fleet Van of the Year at the Motor Transport Awards 2017. The judges loved its excellent chassis, generous payload and durability. And they went even further, describing Fiat as “one of the most flexible manufacturers to deal with”.

The praise continued: “Servicing intervals are now at 30,000 miles and the Ducato has been improved with a new clutch system, upgraded brakes, stronger door hinges and body panel reinforcement,” added the judging panel. “These changes have been made to help prolong the life of the vehicles, and helped secure it some impressive new customers.”

Fiat also recently picked up an award for their green technology, used in the Doblo and Fiorino (their new city model).

Your van, how you want it
You know what your van has to be able to do and what it has to be able to transport. So you might want one that’s kitted out for the job. We work with you to find the best fitting options to make sure you get what you need. The Fiat Ducato can be spec’d as a crew van, a dropside truck, a three-way tipper, a load compartment or as huge-volume transport. The Ford Transit can be configured as pretty much anything you need. And there are great options from Nissan and Volkswagen here for you too.

Used and ex-fleet vans
There are some brilliant deals to be had in this area. You can get vehicles that have been well maintained and looked after for a lot less than the cost of a new van. Generally, these vehicles only have a delivery mileage on them, so they can be a very shrewd investment.

Something you might not have considered...

Should you go for a manual or automatic gearbox? In the past, most UK fleet vans have come with manual gearboxes. Now there are far more that come with the option of an automatic gearbox. So which one is right for your company? Here are a few things you might want to think about:

The can be tiring and are easier to stall

Automatic gearbox

They’re easier to drive in traffic and they make hill starts simple

They’re a lot less tiring and less stressful to drive
