MOTUS Commercials Supports #Doingitforlewin Charity Bike Ride

Motus Commercials Scunthorpe supplied the Learning Skills Partnership with a support vehicle for their Hadrian's Wall bike ride, in aid of charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and in memory of 3-month-old baby Lewin who sadly passed away last year.

  • Motus Commercials Scunthorpe supplied the Learning Skills Partnership (LSP) with a support vehicle for their #doingitforlewin charity bike ride on 7th and 8th September, raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Lewin Hodgins, a 3-month-old baby boy, sadly passed away with Viral Myocarditis in November 2018, having contracted a virus just 5 days before. Lewin’s parents were close friends of the LSP team who are now setting out to raise money and awareness for the CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) charity in memory of Lewin Hodgins. CRY helps to raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death, including sudden arrhythmic death syndrome. You can follow the awareness campaign on social media with #doingitforlewin and via the dedicated doingitforlewin Instagram page too.

The Hadrians Wall charity bike ride took place over two days, starting on the west coast in Bowness-on-Solway, and finishing on the east coast in Newcastle. The group was made up of 3 LSP team members and Martin Young, Aftermarket Marketing and Sales Manager at Motus Commercials Scunthorpe. Martin drove the support vehicle which was supplied by Motus Commercials and Pentagon Group. The magnetic signage on the van was donated by Kerry Tully, Managing Director of Total Signs & Graphics in Grimsby.

Martin comments, “Learning Skills Partnership are a long-term training provider and business partner of Motus Commercials. We have a great relationship with the team so we were keen to show our support. I’m glad that we’ve been able to help out for Lewin and his family, and we’ll continue to support the cause wherever we can.”

This event was the first of two sponsored rides, the second of which is a 24-hour indoor bike ride challenge on 26th-27th November.

LSP is helping to support Lewin’s family by raising funds in his memory and hope to eventually hold a local heart screening day for 100 young people. The team has raised a total of £412 so far, but it’s not too late to donate! Please visit the LSP Bike Ride JustGiving page to make a donation and show your support.
